Welcome to Indiana Dunes species
This is the home of the Indiana Dunes BioBlitz LifeDesk. The BioBlitz will be May 15th-16th, 2009 at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. The BioBlitz is part scientific endeavor, part festival and part outdoor classroom. It is a 24-hour event in which teams of scientists, volunteers and community members join forces to find and identify as many local plant and animal species as possible. Participants comb the park, observing and recording as many plant and animal species as possible.
On this LifeDesk, event contributors and participants will edit and maintain their classification, upload species lists, upload images, and maintain bibliographic resources, among other activities. This will also be an organizing center for the materials coming out of the BioBlitz.
